On June 12th, Wu-Tang Clan's GZA has pledged support with an appearance at The Marijuana Policy Project's third annual open event at Los Angeles' legendary Playboy Mansion.

The Marijuana Policy Project is an advocate to stop the war on marijuana, an effort that has caused casualties and fatalities on criminal victims. The event last year featured Boondocks creator Aaron McGruder, veteran Hip Hop producer and Friday writer DJ Pooh, and actor Cedric Yarbrough [click to read], among others.

"This is a historic statement by one of the world's most respected physician groups, and shows the growing scientific consensus that marijuana is a safe, effective medicine for some patients, including many battling life-threatening illnesses like cancer and AIDS," said former United States Surgeon General Dr. Joycelyn Elders.

The minimum starting bid is $24 million, and bids must be made by June 10.
Those interested may possibly include Afeni Shakur, who has tried to get her son's original work in the past, and Dr. Dre or Snoop Dogg, as many artists have expressed their desire to own their master recordings and publishing rights.

BREAKING: 50's BABY MAMA'S HOUSE BURNS DOWN!!!!!!

From the NY Post.....

May 30, 2008 -- A house owned by rapper 50 cent burned to the ground early this morning in a Dix Hill blaze.

Six people went to the hospital with non-serious injuries, Newsday reported on its Web site. The rapper's ex-girlfriend, Shaniqua Tompkins, lived in the home with their son, according to the report.

Police told Newsday that arson squad investigators were on the scene, but officials would not say if the fire was suspicious.

The L.I. home had been at the center of a legal battle as 50 had been trying to evict his ex-girlfriend, Shaniqua Tompkins, and their son, Marquis Jackson, from the residence. In April 2008, Tompkins filed a lawsuit against the rapper for breach of contract, claiming he had promised to buy the $2.4 million home for her, but put the home under his name instead.

A source told People Magazine at the time that 50's reasons for not following through with the deal stemmed from the discovery that Tompkins was living in the mansion with her new boyfriend. "She's supposed to be finding separate housing for her new family, and she hasn't, and that's why [they're] in the situation [they're] in," a source close to the rapper said.

Lil' Kim Drops "Ms. G.O.A.T." 6/3/08

After parting ways with Atlantic records, Lil' Kim gears up for her official indy release Ms. G.O.A.T. next month.

Collabos on the album feature stand-outs 50 Cent, Nate Dogg, Britney Spears and newcomer Maino. The disc also boasts tracks, to which Kim lent a few bars -- Keyshia Cole's hit "Let it Go," with Missy Elliott, Gucci Mane's club banger "Freaky Gurl," and Alica Keys' "No One" remix.

Kim parted ways with Atlantic Records at the top of the year, saying she was considering going indy. She's done just that with this latest album. Indy distributor Amalgam Entertainment is putting the project out.

In related news a stroke of bad luck and a few unpaid installments got her silver Bentley repossessed last month -- though according to Kim she wasn't responsible for the bills. The tide turned a couple of weeks ago when Kim won a $500,000 lawsuit against former friend, Junior M.A.F.I.A. rapper Lil Cease for featuring her in a street DVD about the now defunct click.

Ms. G.O.A.T. hits shelves June 3rd.

Busta Rhymes Bodyguard Shot Dead

Hey Big Mouth I jacked this from Allhiphop.

A man who worked security for rapper Busta Rhymes was shot multiple times and found dead in the back of his pickup truck on Wednesday, AllHipHop.com has learned.

Jermaine Williams, 35, of the Bronx, was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds in Ozone Park, Queens.

Police found blood dripping from the backseat of his SUV when they discovered Williams' body, which was wrapped in a blanket in the backseat of the SUV.

Sources have confirmed with AllHipHop.com that Williams, also known as “Black,” was Rhymes' bodyguard, although it is unclear if he was working for the rapper as of press time.

Busta Rhymes has been on a tour of Europe and was not in the country at the time of the incident sources told AllHipHop.com.

Williams, who leaves behind two children, reportedly went to Queens to visit his grandmother and ended up missing for almost 24 hours.

Police are still seeking the suspects who committed the murder.

Williams is the second bodyguard employed by Busta Rhymes to be shot dead.

His former bodyguard Israel Ramirez was shot dead on February 5, 2006, outside of a warehouse, where a music video for the remix to Rhymes’ single “Touch It” was being shot.

Ramirez, 29, was shot in the chest in front of the building, where as many as 500 people may have witnessed the shooting.

To date, a shooter has never been identified and Rhymes has denied any knowledge of Ramirez’ shooting.

R Kelly...The Chick From The 3 Way And Her Babydaddy....wow!

THIS IS FROM THE CHICAGO TRIBUNE.

While the jury spends the weekend pondering whether R Kelly's mole really does—or does not—appear in the sex tape's freeze-framed images, everyone else has work to do.

Attorneys will be back in court this morning to discuss a defense motion to subpoena Jim DeRogatis, the Sun-Times music critic who first gave police the videotape. The newspaper is fighting any attempt to compel him to testify.

But that's not the only thing keeping lawyers busy. Both sides are certain to spend the weekend preparing for prosecution witness Lisa Van Allen.

The 27-year-old single mother is expected to testify that she had a three-way sexual encounter with Kelly and the alleged victim depicted in the sex tape at the heart of the child pornography case. We caught up with Van Allen's fiance, Yul Brown, Thursday night and here's what he told us about her:
•Van Allen met Kelly when she was a 17-year-old extra on his "Home Alone" video.

•She and the singer had a relationship from 1998-2005, even though Kelly was married and had children.

•Her sexual relationship with Kelly included a ménage a trois with the singer and his goddaughter, the girl prosecutors say is depicted in the sex tape at the heart of the child pornography case. A videotape was made of at least one three-way encounter, but Brown declines to discuss what became of it.

•Van Allen had the role of hair braider in his 2001 video "My Wish."

•She is currently four months pregnant and works for her fiance's investment company.

•The secret defense witness brought into undermine her testimony—and temporarily postpone her court appearance Wednesday—is her ex-boyfriend and father of her 5-year-old daughter.

•She is looking forward to testifying. "She knows her reasons for coming forward," Brown says. "Like she says, why would she tell everyone she had sex with a minor if it wasn't true? She knows the truth."

[jacked] vanessa bryant curses out some girl

i got this from thedirty.com and then this linkhttp://ridethefastlane.blogspot.com/2008/05/i-just-got-cussed-out-by-kobe-bryants.htm

Last night, I got cussed out by Vanessa Bryant. Seriously. At the Lakers game. In front of her kids. In front of the Lakers locker room. It was awesome. She is mad about an article I wrote where I mentioned her. That means one of two things - she either reads the ESPN blog or she has herself on Google alerts. Both are fantastic.

So as I’m walking out of the Lakers locker room after some post-game interviews with the players, I pass Vanessa, who is sitting outside the locker room as usual with her two girls.

“Laura!” she screams (yes, she apparently knows my name). “Fuck you! You fucking bitch!”

“Excuse me?” I say, completely baffled as I look around me to see if there is someone else named Laura. No, there’s not.

Her daughters – ages 5 and 2 – are sitting next to her on the bench looking at their mom as she screams.

“Fuck you! How dare you write about me and my daughters and their schedule! You didn’t say you were writing an article! Fuck you! You fucking bitch. You have no journalism ethics! Fuck you! You bitch - ”

I just stare at her. I’ve heard many stories about her from reporters, but this was unbelievable. Two of my friends from the LA Times told me how she cussed out one of them last season, because he said hi to her daughter. “Join the club, this means you’ve arrived,” said one reporter when word spread of my run-in with Vanessa. “She’s insane,” said another. “Everyone knows it.”

Kobe Bryant walks out of the locker room and one of the girls runs over to him, while Vanessa continues to scream and cuss at me.

There’s no way I am going to sit here with Kobe Bryant while his wife screams at me so I look at her, shrug, and walk away.

Perhaps she’s angry at the world because there were rumors today that came out that Kobe Bryant slept with a Lakers cheerleader – a hotter version of his wife who is also named Vanessa - and she got fired. While I am completely against cheating, can you honestly blame Kobe if he didn't want to sleep with that???

I asked a couple of the Lakers cheerleaders if it was true one of the girls got fired. They looked at each other not knowing what to say. “Uh, well, um she moved on,” stuttered one of them. “Um, yeah, she moved on to do other things.”

Sure. The Lakers are in the playoffs and she suddenly decided to pursue other things. She's 18 years-old and it was her first year! You're telling me she got sick of being a Lakers girl already and didn't want to finish the rest of the PLAYOFFS!

The sad part is before all of this I kind of liked Vanessa and I thought we hit it off. She doesn't give a fuck about anything. She wears these insane outfits, struts around Staples Center like a queen, shows off her daughters and lets them run around the hall way playing tag while reporters are trying to get by.

The article Vanessa was apparently upset about is one I wrote a couple weeks ago when she wore some crazy outfit when Kobe got his MVP. I really thought the outfit was awesome; very Sarah Jessica Parker. She wore a purple tutu. It was an outfit I would have made with my friends in high school for fun.

That game, before I went in the Lakers locker room for interviews I went to talk to her and ask her about her outfit. I had a notebook in my hand, a recorder in my hand and I asked her about her outfit and we talked about the kids and how they didn’t want to wear a tutu and how they’re doing dance and some other stuff.

As a journalist I am going to piss people off. That’s just the nature of the business. I never want to or intend to piss people off, but if you’re not pissing people off occasionally, then you are constantly kissing ass. First of all, this wasn't a case of journalistic ethics. I don't think she knows what the term means. Either way, I hold myself to high standards of journalistic ethics. Not everything in journalism is black and white and I'll admit that but if I question something, I just don't do it. I was trained in journalism and I’ve taken journalism ethics classes. I went to journalism school at one of the top Universities in the nation. Vanessa Bryant didn’t go to college. And for her to talk to me about ethics ...

Considering there are a lot of rumors going around, I’m sure she’s upset. So she took it out on me and now I have an awesome story.

About three different reporters at the game and one of my editors told me I should write about her cussing me out. That's the beauty of journalism. You don't fight, you write.

Xzibit And Family Lose Infant Son To Lung Complications

Less than a day after emcee Camo Tao died due to lung cancer , another tragedy has hurt the Hip Hop community. In the early hours of Monday May 26, emcee/actor Xzibit lost his infant son Xavier from lung complications.

The veteran announced the news through a MySpace blog post, stating, "I am telling you this because of the same reason I tell you when I'm having great times, life is too short to be fake. Hold on to your kids, if you have them. Protect them and show them you love them everyday you wake up and see them. Don't take a second you get to hug them, teach them and care for them for granted. You can have all the material wealth in the universe, but it is NOTHING compared to having your family."

Xavier Joiner was born May 15, and from premature birth, displayed problems with inhaling oxygen. Xzibit added, "I am keeping faith that everything will work out fine. I tell you people, bringing a life into this world right now is a blessing for me. I have had time to focus and put A LOT of shit into perspective over the last few years. And at the end of the day, if you don’t have FAMILY around you ... you don't have shit."

"X-to-the-Z" has not released an album since 2006's Full Circle Earlier this month, he appeared on Bishop Lamont's "Be Cool", reportedly a mixtape track. The rapper has recently been furthering his film career in the X-Files sequel, playing an FBI agent.

Sean Kingston Preps New Album With Pharrell & Timbaland

After his self-titled debut produced two singles which ended up in the top five of Billboard's Hot 100, Sean Kingston is looking to change his formula. For his sophomore set Kingston hopes to take a page from Madonna's book and enlist the help of Virginia beatsmiths Timbaland and Pharrell Williams. The 18-year-old, who jumpstarted his career via MySpace, gave HipHopDX some exclusive information about working with the two production giants.
"I'll be going in the studio with them, and I can't wait," Kingston tells HipHopDX. "It's gonna be crazy. I think their styles are so dope, and we can make some magic over those beats. I write all my own music, and all my own stuff, so it's gonna be dope."

Epic, which is the parent company of Kingston's label, Beluga Heights, originally had to sell many urban stations on their artist's first single "Beautiful Girls." Although Pop and Top 40 markets embraced the song, Epic outsourced Koch to market "Beautiful Girls" specifically to urban outlets. Since that songs release and subsequent success, Sean Kingston has performed material with The Game, Rick Ross and Bun B, among others. Although the recording for his next album has yet to begin, Kingston says he thinks the new material will be more well-rounded than expected.

"This album is gonna touch everything—the urban, the pop...everything," adds Kingston. "My first album was cool on the urban side, but it ended up being a huge pop album. This time I want to build Sean Kingston as a brand and not just somebody with a couple songs out. I've been writing everyday and coming up with new ideas to release different stuff out there. I'm grinding and I just put my mixtape out there too."

Kingston's "I'm Just Warmin' Up" mixtape is hosted by DJ Khaled, DJ Envy and DJ Felli Fel, and features guest spots from Three-6 Mafia, Plies, Red Cafe and Busta Rhymes.

The Big One About to Drop in R. Kelly Trial

The bombshell witness in the R. Kelly trial -– a woman who claims she had a three-way with R. and the alleged victim – is due to testify today.

The defense is clearly rattled – they tried to force her removal from the witness list completely, but the judge nixed that. The woman, who lives in Georgia, is expected to ID the girl on the pee-pee tape and to verify that she was a minor at the time.

Yesterday, a woman who worked for Kelly reluctantly ID'd the singer as the guy in the tape.
